george bush is an economic wrecking ball.

a few words from him, and the dow drops 400 points. thankfully, bush is a man of few words (and fewer thoughts behind them).

we’ll get through this together,” he says. no, we won’t. soon he’ll be off to crawford. or some country without extradition treaties. the rest of us will be slogging through the wreckage of the economy he’s left us with after eight years of monumental stupidity.

the stupidity, it should be noted, is ours for allowing a sub-prime president to push the national house off the foundation.

bush is urging calm in the face of turmoil. which is kind of funny for someone who was urging panic just a few days ago in an effort to stampede his $700 billion bailout through congress.

historical reminder: clinton=budget surplus. bush=$5 trillion more debt and the largest expansion of government in u.s. history. which is kind of funny for a bunch of people who insist government is evil.

“fellow citizens, we can solve this crisis and we will,” said the man who created the crisis. ten words that’ll probably drive the dow below 8,000. shut up, already.

didja know? this week was the worst in the history of the dow jones industrial average. apparently the professionals don’t think much of bush’s problem-solving abilities. hard to figure, since his record in that regard has been so stellar.

stock losses in ‘08 are at $8.3 trillion, and you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone predicting an epic comeback heading into the holiday season. think about that: $8.3 trillion. okay, stop thinking about it, because it’s a waste of time. numbers that big are imponderable and therefore meaningless.

to put it in more accessible terms, think of the number of lies the bush administration told since taking office, and multiply by 2. that’s how much 8.3 trillion is. impressive, huh?

bush could do the world a huge favor by taking his shock-and-awful public utterances elsewhere for the duration of his “presidency.”

the less the world sees and hears him, the sooner the recovery can begin — and the bigger it will be.

One Response to “scourge”

The “ranch” in Crawford was a prop. W & Laura are moving back to Dallas after he’s done with ruining the country.

Just like I said to a friend at lunch, if Bush says he’s got it covered and there’s not need to panic. Then we should panic.
